ICGFM meets with Chinese Finance Delegation

ICGFM met with a delegation of 17 Chinese government finance professionals on Friday, February 24, 2017 during their visit to the United States.  The Chinese finance delegation consisting of Wang Jianxum, Chief Accountant, Treasury Department Ministry of Finance, People’s Republic of China, accountants and financial professionals for treasury operations and cash management at both central and provincial government levels, met with ICGFM to exchange best practices in government financial management and government cash management, cash flow analysis and investment.

ICGFM Board of Directors Member, Lucie Phillips of IBI, was the focus of an in-depth interview by the Washington Post. “Business methods were badly needed in developing countries. ICGFM VP of Membership, Jim Wright, Speaks at World Bank’s PFM—Reporting for Results Conference for Francophone Africa, Dakar, Senegal
Jim presented at the conference to create exposure and greater awareness of ICGFM’s history, mission, members, programs and activities, including our history of collaborating with African delegates, and Francophone African delegates more specifically. ICGFM took part in Session 2.2: Mobilizing Citizens and Development Partners on the second day of the conference.  We presented along with Dr. Babacar Sarr, Program Officer of the Open Budget Initiative, Jean Awinja Wameyo, Manager, Fiduciary Services, AfDB, and Jules Nguebou, Director of ASSOAL, Cameroon. The purpose of the panel was to share experiences and discussion by the panel and audience on the role of citizens and development partners in strengthening PFM and actions by development partners to strengthen public sector financial reporting and auditing.
